ABSTRACT Purpose To identify orofacial myofunctional complaints and sleep-disordered breathing and correlate them with sleep habits in childhood. Methods The study included 71 parents/guardians of public school children aged 6 to 11 years. They answered a form with semi-structured medical history questions and the Nordic Orofacial Test-Screening - interview, the Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea Screening Tool Questionnaire, and the Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire - all of them in their Portuguese/Brazilian versions in an online format. Statistical analyses used Spearman’s correlation, setting the significance level at 5%. Results There were 29 female children (40.8%) and 42 male ones (59.2%), with a mean age of 8.52 years. The study found orofacial myofunctional complaints related to breathing functions (35.2%), chewing and swallowing (32.4%), and deleterious habits (33.8%). All children were at a low risk of sleep-disordered breathing. As for sleep habits, 23 children (32.39%) had a lower total score, whereas 48 children (67.61%) exceeded 41 points. Conclusion There was a correlation between the risk of sleep-disordered breathing in children with complaints of orofacial myofunctional disorders and poor sleep quality/habits.

RESUMO Objetivo Identificar e correlacionar as queixas de alterações miofuncionais orofaciais e de risco para distúrbios respiratórios do sono com hábitos de sono na infância. Método Participaram 71 pais ou responsáveis de crianças de 6 a 11 anos, matriculadas em uma escola pública. Foi aplicado um formulário com questões semiestruturadas/anamnese e os protocolos Nordic Orofacial Test-Screening - entrevista, Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea Screening Tool Questionnaire, e Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire - todos em suas versões em português/Brasil no formato online. Para a análise estatística, realizou-se o teste de correlação de Spearman, considerando o nível de significância de 5%. Resultados 29 crianças eram do sexo feminino (40,8%) e 42 do sexo masculino (59,2%), com média de idade de 8,52 anos. As queixas miofuncionais orofaciais encontradas foram relacionadas às funções de respiração (35,2%), mastigação e deglutição (32,4%) e hábitos deletérios (33,8%). Todas as crianças apresentaram um baixo risco para distúrbios respiratórios do sono e quanto aos hábitos de sono, 23 crianças (32,39%) apresentaram uma somatória menor, enquanto que 48 crianças (67,61%) ultrapassaram 41 pontos. Conclusão Houve correlação entre risco para distúrbios respiratórios do sono em crianças com as queixas de alterações miofuncionais orofaciais e com a baixa qualidade/maus hábitos de sono.

Abstract Introduction The exposure of medical students to a full-time schedule that includes classes, extracurricular activities, patients’ lives responsibility, and great competition between classmates can interfere in emotional issues and in the sleep time. Objective The aim of the present study was to evaluate the sleep quality, and the incidence of anxiety and depression in medical school undergraduates as well as the relationship of these parameters with the intense use of technologies. Methods Fifty-five medical school undergraduates in their second year participated in the present study, answering questionnaires to evaluate sleep quality (Pittsburgh sleep quality index - PSQI), night-time use of technology (sleep time-related information and communication technology - STRICT), and signs of anxiety or depression (hospital anxiety and depression scale - HADS). Results The results showed 31 students (56.4%) with poor sleep quality (PSQI > 5). Based on the STRICT questionnaire, 36 (65.4%) of the participants referred to making use of technology at night-time; and 34 (61.8%) students had compatible anxiety score, while 14 (25.4%) had a compatible score for depression on the HADS questionnaire. There has been a correlation between poor sleep quality, the abuse of technologies before sleep time, and the presence of anxiety or depression. Conclusion The abuse of technology before sleep time reduced the sleep quality in the studied population, besides increasing the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Abstract Introduction Tinnitus is a conscious perception of a sound resulting from abnormal activity within the nervous system. A relevant percentage of tinnitus patients report symptoms severe enough to significantly affect quality of life, including sleep disorders. Objectives To analyze the sleep quality, insomnia, daytime sleepiness, and risk of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in participants with tinnitus. Methods The sample comprised 18 adults and older adults aged between 18 and 85 years old (mean age = 58.7 ± 17.5 years old), females and males, with complaint of continuous tinnitus for > 1 month. The instruments used were the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) questionnaire, the Insomnia Severity Index, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, and the STOP-Bang questionnaire. Results By means of the THI questionnaire, the tinnitus severity degree reported by most participants was mild (27.8%) and moderate (27.8%), having a positive (r = 0.582) and significant (0.011) correlation to sleep quality, measured by means of the Pittsburgh questionnaire. There was a positive correlation between the Insomnia Severity Index and tinnitus handicap (r = 0.499; p = 0.035). A total of 72.2% of the participants self-assessed their sleep quality as poor, in addition to moderate insomnia (27.8%), although there is low risk of OSA (66.7%), without complaints of excessive daytime sleepiness (72.2%). Conclusion Subjects with tinnitus complaint self-rated their sleep quality as poor. Moreover, the higher the reported tinnitus handicap, the greater the symptoms of insomnia. There was no influence of tinnitus in relation to daytime sleepiness and no relationship between the severity of tinnitus and the risk of OSA.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to analyze the hearing habits of a group of students between public and private schools and compare the degree of exposure to sound stimuli via earphones. Methods: 1,085 public and private school students received a questionnaire on hearing habits and exposure to amplified music. Their answers to these questions were analyzed and compared between the groups of students. The chi-square test compared hearing habits between public and private schools, with the statistical significance level set at 5% (p < 0.05). Result: in general, most students (92%) reported hearing habits of exposure to amplified music. Questionnaire answers indicated a high prevalence of both earphone use (92%) and attendance at places with loud music (63.6%). Conclusion: private school students use earphones more often than those from public schools.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar os hábitos auditivos de um grupo de alunos e comparar o grau de exposição ao estímulo sonoro via fones de ouvido entre escolas públicas e privadas. Métodos: foram distribuídos questionários contendo perguntas referentes a hábitos auditivos de exposição à música amplificada, aos 1085 alunos de escolas pública e privada. Em seguida, as respostas aos questionamentos foram analisadas e comparadas entre os grupos de alunos. Utilizou-se o teste Qui-quadrado com um nível de significância estatística estabelecido em 5% (p<0,05) para se comparar os hábitos auditivos entre as escolas públicas e privadas. Resultado: de modo geral, a maioria dos alunos (92%) respondeu que tem hábitos auditivos de exposição à música amplificada. Tanto o uso de fones de ouvido (92%) quanto as idas a lugares com música alta (63,6%) tiveram alta prevalência nas respostas aos questionários. Conclusão: alunos de escolas particulares utilizam mais fones de ouvido frequentemente comparados aos alunos de escolas públicas.

ABSTRACT Purpose: this study aimed at assessing the legibility, reliability, usability and coverage of websites on cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P) in Brazilian Portuguese and providing a global comparison. Methods: in order to evaluate the obtained data, four protocols were used, i.e., the Website Coverage Protocol, the legibility (by means of the COH METRIX PORT), the reliability (Discern Protocol), and the usability (by means of the System Usability Scale). Results: 98 websites were included with average legibility scoring of 31.6±11.7, rated as a hard readability level. Coverage average scoring was 19.9±3.79 from a total of 35 points. As for reliability, average scoring was 43.2±6.51 points, rated as acceptable. The usability scoring was 24.8±2.18 points, rated as the worst imaginable one. Conclusion: therefore, the assessed Brazilian websites on CL/P were rated difficult for legibility, requiring high-school level of education, restricted coverage and acceptable reliability, in addition to the low usability. The results were similar to those of websites from other countries, except for the legibility aspect, which was lower for Brazilian websites.

RESUMO Objetivo: identificar, por meio de uma revisão de escopo, as categorias da Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde descritas em estudos sobre as afasias. Métodos: foi realizada uma busca nas bases de dados EMBASE, LILACS, PubMed, Scopus e Web of Science e em quatro buscadores da literatura cinzenta a partir dos DECs, termos Mesh e termos livres relacionados à “International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health” e à “aphasia”. As recomendações do PRISMA foram utilizadas. Os gerenciadores EndNote e Rayyan foram usados para remoção das duplicatas e para a leitura dos títulos, resumos e textos completos. Foram elegíveis os trabalhos que incluíam “afasia” e algum conceito da Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde; publicados a partir de 2001. As informações registradas foram: tipo de estudo, nível de evidência, amostra, objetivos e categorias. Revisão de Literatura: foram localizados 1366 trabalhos nas bases de dados e 341 na literatura cinzenta. As categorias de primeiro nível mais descritas nos 13 estudos selecionados foram: Estruturas do Sistema Nervoso (Cérebro); Funções Mentais (Linguagem); Comunicação (Conversação); Apoio e Relacionamentos (Família Nuclear). Sexo e idade foram alguns dos Fatores Pessoais mais identificados. Conclusão: esta revisão fornece suporte para recomendar o uso da Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde na atuação com pessoas com afasia.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to identify, through a scoping review, the categories of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health described in studies on aphasia. Methods: the search was performed by DECs, MeSH terms and free terms related to the “International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health” and “aphasia” in five databases, EMBASE, LILACS, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science, and four search engines of grey literature. The PRISMA recommendations were used. EndNote and Rayyan managers were used to remove duplicates and read titles, abstracts and full studies. Papers that contained “aphasia” and some aspect from the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health were eligible, published from 2001. The data recorded were: type of study, level of evidence, sample, objectives and categories. Literature Review: 1,366 studies were located in the databases and 341 in the grey literature. The mostly described first level categories in the 13 selected studies were: Structures of the Nervous System (Brain); Mental Functions (Language); Communication (Conversation); Support and Relationships (Immediate Family). Gender and age were some of the most identified Personal Factors. Conclusion: this review provides support to the use of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for performance with people with aphasia.

Abstract Objectives To investigate the evidence on the association between ankyloglossia and obstructive sleep apnea. Methods An integrative literature review was carried out in the databases. Observational and interventional studies that assessed the lingual frenulum in children with sleep-disordered breathing were included. As exclusion criteria: studies in animals, in vitro, letters to the editor, expert opinions, other reviews. The selected articles were analyzed regarding the study design, sample, characterization of the lingual frenulum and sleep assessment, in addition to the main results and conclusions. Results Ninety-seven articles were identified, but only 4 met the inclusion criteria. Two retrospective studies concluded that the untreated shortened lingual frenulum at birth is associated with obstructive sleep apnea. A prospective study concluded that there was an improvement in speech and deglutition after lingual frenectomy, in addition to improved sleep. A retrospective cohort concluded that lingual frenuloplasty combined with myofunctional therapy is effective in the treatment of snoring and mouth breathing. Conclusion The studies included in this review contribute to corroborate the association between ankyloglossia and obstructive sleep apnea.

Resumo Objetivo Investigar as evidências sobre a associação entre a anquiloglossia e a apneia obstrutiva do sono. Método Foi feita revisão de literatura integrativa nas bases de dados. Foram incluídos estudos observacionais e intervencionais em que foi feita a avaliação do frênulo de língua em crianças com distúrbios respiratórios do sono. Como critérios de exclusão: estudo em animais, in vitro, carta ao editor, opinião de expert, outras revisões. Os artigos selecionados foram analisados quanto ao desenho do estudo, casuística, caracterização da avaliação do frênulo lingual e do sono, além dos principais resultados e conclusões. Resultado Foram localizados 97 artigos, porém apenas 4 atenderam aos critérios de inclusão. Dois estudos retrospectivos concluiram que o frênulo lingual curto não tratado ao nascimento está associado à apneia obstrutiva do sono. Um estudo prospectivo concluiu que, após a frenectomia lingual, além da melhoria do sono, houve melhoria na fala e deglutição. Um coorte retrospectivo concluiu que a frenuloplastia lingual associada à terapia miofuncional é eficaz no tratamento do ronco e respiração oral. Conclusão Os estudos incluídos na presente revisão contribuem para corroborar a associação entre anquiloglossia e apneia obstrutiva do sono.

Abstract Introduction The quality of information on websites about tonsillectomy regarding the knowledge level may be low. Tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure to hypertrophy of the palatine and pharyngeal tonsils. So, it is an invasive procedure with possible complications, which creates insecurity in parents. Significantly, Internet searches have been increased to address possible health concerns, questioning the quality of websites about tonsillectomy. Objective To evaluate the readability, reliability, and comprehensiveness of the Italian websites dedicated to parental guidance regarding the indications for tonsillectomy in children. Methods The search engine google.it was used to search the websites. The Gulpease index, which is a widely used readability formula ranging from 0 (difficult) to 100 (easy readability), was employed to evaluate these websites. The Health on the Net Code of Conduct (HONcode) was used to assess the quality of information, by taking ethical principles into account, with values ranging from 0 to 13. The content comprehensiveness of the web pages was assessed by assigning points ranging from 1 (very insufficient) to 5 (very satisfying) to each page. A final comparison with previous studies on tonsillectomy published on websites from other countries was performed. Results Fourteen Italian websites were selected, and the Gulpease index showed a mean average of 40.77 ± 8.45. The mean of the HONcode analysis was 6.00 ± 1.92, in which the principles with the poorest scores were Attribution and Update. As far as the comprehensiveness of the websites is concerned, the resulting mean was 2.57 ± 0.77, in which Indications was the topic with the highest mean, whereas Benefits was the one with the lowest. Conclusion The Italian websites were characterized by a lower readability level, a middle position regarding ethical principles, and the same (insufficient) comprehensiveness of tonsillectomy when compared with websites from different countries.

Resumo Introdução: A adenotonsilectomia é um procedimento que, por ser invasivo, pode incentivar a busca de informações pela população leiga por meio de ferramentas de busca online. A qualidade dessas informações, no entanto, requer uma avaliação devido à grande diversidade do conteúdo disponível. Objetivo: Avaliar a qualidade dos websites de maior acesso voltados à orientação de pais/responsáveis de crianças às quais a adenotonsilectomia é indicada, em termos de princípios éticos, legibilidade e abrangência. Método: Os websites contidos nas primeiras 10 páginas obtidas pela busca das palavras-chave “retirada”, “amígdalas” e “adenoides” foram selecionados sob critérios de inclusão e de exclusão e avaliados com as ferramentas Teste de Facilidade de Leitura Flesch e Health on the Net Code (HON Code). Também foi feita avaliação de conteúdo por dois avaliadores independentes. Os dados foram descritos, a concordância interavaliador foi calculada pelo coeficiente Kappa. Resultados: Foram encontrados 34 websites, dos 100 analisados, que se adequavam aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão com as ferramentas Google e Yahoo! Pelo Índice de Facilidade de Leitura Flesch 16 (47%) páginas foram consideradas de leitura razoavelmente difícil/difícil. A maioria atendeu a menos da metade dos quesitos éticos analisados e a média de abrangência geral foi considerada como insuficiente. Conclusão: Demonstrou-se uma realidade deficitária em termos de qualidade geral (abrangência, legibilidade e princípios éticos) associada aos websites disponíveis para pais ou cuidadores sobre o procedimento da cirurgia das tonsilas em crianças.

Abstract Introduction: Adenotonsillectomy is an invasive surgical procedure, which may encourage the search for information by the lay population through online search engines. The quality of this information, however, requires an evaluation due to the wide diversity of the available content. Objective: To evaluate the quality, in terms of ethical principles, readability and comprehensiveness, of the most accessed websites concerning guidance to parents/guardians related to their children’s recommended adenotonsillectomy. Methods: The websites mentioned on the first 10 pages obtained after the search using “removal”, “tonsils” and “adenoids” as keywords, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, were selected. All were assessed using the Flesch Readability Index and Health on the Net Code tools, in addition to an evaluation of the content by two independent evaluators. The data were described, and the inter-rater agreement was calculated by the Kappa coefficient. Results: 34 websites were found, of the 100 assessed ones, which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria using the Google and Yahoo! Tools. Sixteen (47%) pages were considered reasonably difficult/difficult to read according to the Flesch Readability Index. Most of them met less than half of the analyzed ethical requirements according to the Health on the Net Code, and the overall comprehensiveness average was considered insufficient. Conclusion: A deficit of overall quality (comprehensiveness, readability, and ethical principles) was demonstrated for the websites available to parents or guardians about the adenotonsillectomy procedure in children.

RESUMO Objetivo elaborar um website de cunho educacional sobre fissura labiopalatina para profissionais e estudantes da área da saúde. Métodos trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, exploratório, estruturado a partir da proposta de design instrucional, composta por quatro fases: análise e planejamento (busca nas bases científicas), modelagem (estruturação com o conteúdo, ilustrações e questionário), avaliação (por especialistas que atuam na área) e implementação (disponibilização do website). Resultados na fase de análise e planejamento foram encontrados 408 artigos para estruturar os tópicos do website. Na modelagem, o conteúdo foi dividido em 7 seções, criadas 16 imagens estáticas e um questionário avaliativo. Na fase de avaliação, participaram 10 fonoaudiólogas especialistas que sugeriram a manutenção de 7 seções no website. Todas as avaliações com sugestões de modificações que tiveram índice de concordância abaixo de 90% foram atendidas, tanto no conteúdo, como no questionário. Após, o website foi reformulado, assim como o questionário, para futura avaliação dos usuários. O website está disponibilizado em www.fissuralabiopalatina.unb.br. Conclusão por meio da sistemática do design instrucional, o website sobre fissuras labiopalatina foi constituído para a orientação de estudantes, profissionais da área da saúde e população em geral.

ABSTRACT Purpose to create an educational website about cleft lip and palate for healthcare professionals and students. Methods a qualitative and exploratory study structured from a design proposal consisting of the following four phases: analysis and planning (review of scientific data), modeling (structuring with content and illustrations), evaluation (by experts working in the area) and final implementation (website availability). Results in the analysis and planning phase, 408 articles were used to structure the website's topics. In the modeling phase, the content was divided into 7 sections, 16 static images and an evaluative questionnaire were created. In the evaluation phase 10 specialized speech-language pathologists participated and suggested maintaining 7 sections on the website. All evaluations with suggestions for modifications that had an agreement index below 90% were met, both in content and in the questionnaire. Afterward, the website and questionnaire were updated for future user evaluation. The website is available at www.fissuralabiopalatina.unb.br. Conclusion we concluded that through systematic instructional design the website about cleft lip and palate was created for the orientating students, healthcare professionals and the public alike.

RESUMO Objetivo avaliar a qualidade dos websites de maior acesso, voltados à orientação de professores sobre Sistemas de Frequência Modulada, em termos de legibilidade, confiabilidade, usabilidade e abrangência. Métodos os websites contidos nas primeiras cinco páginas do Google e Yahoo!, obtidos mediante busca das palavras-chave/termos livres "sistema FM", "criança", "deficiência auditiva", "professor", “microfones remotos” e "orientações", foram selecionados e avaliados por três juízas, por meio do Teste de Facilidade de Leitura de Flesch, do Discern Questionnaire, da System Usability Scale e da avaliação de abrangência. Resultados quatorze websites foram avaliados. Destes, metade foi classificada quanto ao grau de legibilidade e confiabilidade como “difícil/muito difícil” e “ruim”, respectivamente. Quanto à usabilidade, a maioria dos webistes foi classificada como “boa”, sendo apenas um categorizado como “melhor alcançável”. A análise da abrangência dos websites revelou que os temas contemplados de forma menos precisa foram: a utilização do Sistema FM pelo professor e aluno e o manuseio do aparelho com o modo “liga/desliga”. Conclusão os websites disponíveis no idioma português do Brasil, com orientações para professores a respeito do Sistema FM, apresentaram legibilidade restrita e quase metade dos conteúdos disponibilizados foi classificada como “ruim”, demonstrando que a confiabilidade para escolhas de tratamento por meio dessas informações não é tão segura.

ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate the quality of the most accessed websites aimed at instructing teachers on Frequency Modulation Systems in terms of readability, reliability, usability and comprehensiveness. Methods The websites contained in the first five pages of Google and Yahoo!, obtained by searching for keywords / free terms: "FM system", "child", "hearing impairment", "teacher", "remote microphones" and " guidelines" were selected and evaluated by three analysts using the Flesch Reading EaseTest, the Discern Questionnaire, the System Usability Scale and the comprehensiveness assessment. Results Fourteen websites were evaluated. Half of them were classified according to the degree of readability and reliability as "difficult / very difficult" and "poor", respectively. As for usability, most websites were classified as "good", with only one categorized as "best achievable". The analysis of the scope of the websites revealed that the themes covered in a less precise way were: the use of the FM system by the teacher and student, and the handling of the device with the “on / off” mode. Conclusion The websites available in the Brazilian Portuguese language with teachers’ guidance, regarding the FM System, presented restricted readability and almost half of the available content was classified as poor, demonstrating that the reliability for treatment choices through this information is not so safe.

RESUMO A eficácia da terapia fonoaudiológica está comprovada para a apneia obstrutiva do sono (AOS), principalmente para a população adulta. Entretanto, estudos com população acima de 65 anos são escassos. Assim, o objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar a evolução clínica longitudinal de um sujeito idoso com AOS submetido à terapia miofuncional orofacial (TMO). Caso clínico, sexo masculino, 72 anos, com AOS, submetido à TMO após ter realizado avaliação clínica, exames de polissonografia (PSG) e avaliação clínica otorrinolaringológica, bem como a aplicação da escala de sonolência de Epworth, a classificação de Mallampati e a avaliação fonoaudiológica miofuncional orofacial em três momentos distintos: antes da TMO, após a TMO e após 22 meses da TMO. A TMO se configurou na realização de exercícios isométricos e isotônicos para região orofacial e faríngea, treino funcional em sessões semanais de 30 minutos, durante cinco meses, quando, então, as sessões foram espaçadas. Após os 22 meses de TMO, observaram-se evoluções nos parâmetros objetivos e subjetivos relativos ao sono, que foram analisados e identificados por meio de uma nova polissonografia (PSG), com os seguintes dados: exame basal, 24,5 eventos/hora e último exame de 4,63 eventos/hora. Verificou-se acentuada melhora da sonolência diurna excessiva e, ainda, melhora dos parâmetros miofuncionais orofaciais. Deste modo, pôde-se constatar que a TMO demonstrou resultados eficientes e eficazes na intervenção e no tratamento terapêutico fonoaudiológico, tendo como base a AOS do paciente idoso. Ressalta-se que tais resultados foram acompanhados e controlados por meio de avaliação multidisciplinar de modo longitudinal.

ABSTRACT The effectiveness of speech-language therapy is proven for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), especially for the adult population. However, studies with a population over 65 years are scarce. Thus, the aim of the present study was to analyze the longitudinal clinical evolution of an OSA elderly subject undergoing Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT). Male clinical case, 72 years old, with OSA submitted to OMT, polysomnography (PSG) exams, otorhinolaryngological clinical evaluation, Epworth sleepiness scale application, Mallampati classification and orofacial myofunctional speech evaluation in 3 different moments in time (before OMT, after OMT and after 22 months of OMT). OMT was configured to perform isometric and isotonic exercises for the orofacial and pharyngeal regions and functional training in weekly sessions of 30 minutes for 5 months. After that period, the sessions were spaced for biweekly, monthly and quarterly. After 22 months of OMT, an evolution was observed in the objective and subjective parameters related to sleep, identified by polysomnography (baseline test: 24.5 events / hour and last test of 4.63 events per hour), improvement in excessive daytime sleepiness and improvement of myofunctional orofacial parameters. Thus, it was observed that OMT demonstrated efficient and effective results of speech therapy intervention and therapeutic treatment based on OSA in this case report of an elderly person. It is noteworthy that such results were monitored and controlled through multidisciplinary evaluation in a longitudinal way.

RESUMO Objetivo Atualizar e avaliar o conteúdo referente às funções orofaciais do Portal dos Bebês da área da Fonoaudiologia. Métodos O estudo envolveu três etapas: reestruturação e atualização da seção das funções orofaciais do Portal dos Bebês, por meio de revisão bibliográfica; análise de legibilidade do novo conteúdo, por meio do Índice de Facilidade de Leitura Flesch; avaliação das seções a partir da aplicação de questionários em dois grupos de participantes: grupo A, composto por 15 fonoaudiólogos, e grupo B, composto por dez pais/cuidadores de crianças. Resultados Foi inserida uma nova seção no website Portal dos Bebês, pertencente ao tópico Funções Orofaciais, denominada Teste da Linguinha, subdividida em cinco subseções. Além disso, o conteúdo existente foi revisado e alterações condizentes com a literatura atual foram realizadas. A avaliação da legibilidade indicou o nível instrucional mínimo exigido do ensino fundamental para a compreensão do conteúdo. O grupo A considerou o conteúdo “ótimo”, além de boa avaliação para os quesitos “propriedade”, “classificação do propósito”, “autoria”, “qualificação do autor”, “atribuição”, “interatividade” e “atualizações” do website. Na avaliação realizada pelo grupo B, 64% dos participantes, revelaram que o conteúdo “ajudou muito” na aquisição de conhecimentos da área, além de apresentar aumento da porcentagem de acertos após o acesso ao website. Conclusão O conteúdo referente a Funções Orofaciais do Portal dos Bebês foi atualizado e na avaliação por ambos os grupos foi possível observar resultados positivos em relação a todos os aspectos avaliados.

ABSTRACT Purpose To update and evaluate of the contents regarding Orofacial Functions of the website Babies Portal of Speech-Language Pathology area. Methods The study involved three steps: restructuring and updating of the orofacial functions section of the Website Babies Portal, through bibliographic review; readability analysis of the new content, through the Flesch Reading Facility Index; and the sections evaluation from the application of questionnaires in two groups: group A was composed of 15 speech therapists and group B was composed of 10 parents/caregivers of children. Results A new section was inserted in the Portal, in orofacial functions topics, denominated “Neonatal Tongue Screening Test” subdivided into five other subsections. In addition, the existing content was reviewed and changes consistent with the current literature were performed. The readability assessment indicated the minimum instructional level required of elementary school for the understanding of content. Group A considered the content to be “excellent”, as well as a good evaluation for the “property”, “purpose classification”, “authority”, “author qualification”, “attribution”, “interactivity” and “updates”. In the evaluation carried out by group B, 64% revealed that the content “helped a lot” in the acquisition of knowledge, in addition to increasing the percentage of hits after accessing the website. Conclusion The content related to Orofacial Functions of the Website Babies Portal was updated and in the evaluation by both groups, it was possible to observe positive results, in relation to all aspects evaluated.

Abstract Introduction Several studies show correlations between congenital toxoplasmosis and hearing loss, with a broad diversity of levels of hearing loss and specifications of hearing disorders. Objective To describe the studies found in the literature regarding hearing disorders in congenital toxoplasmosis. Data Synthesis A literature review was conducted on the Lilacs, SciELO, PubMed and Scopus databases by combining the following keywords: congenital toxoplasmosis and hearing. Based on this search strategy, 152 papers were found, the majority published on the Scopus and PubMed databases from1958 to 2015. After theapplication of the inclusion criteria, 8 articles published between 1980 and 2015 were included in the present study. Conclusion This review showed a moderate evidence of the association between hearing disorders and congenital toxoplasmosis, which is characterized by sensorineural hearing loss. However, there are gaps in the description of the specific characteristics of the type and level of hearing loss, or of other possible disorders involved in the auditory processing.

Abstract Introduction Cleft lip and cleft palate can result in impairments in communication, specifically in hearing, making the use of technological resources such as blogs a fundamental guideline for health professionals. Objective The aim of this study was to prepare and analyze the access to a blog about cleft lip and cleft palate and hearing as a pedagogical tool for health professionals. Methods The first stage for the development of the blogwas the selection of the content that would be addressed and the respective illustrations. The second stage was making the blog available through theWordPress platform, and the third stage included the evaluation of the blog, of the access to theWordPress statistical features, and of the quality of the blog through the Emory questionnaire, which was answered by 75 professionals. Results The blog, titled “Fissure and Hearing”, was developed with the architecture of a digital information environment containing a system of organization, navigation, labeling and search (first stage). The address hosting the blog was: http://fissuraeaudicao. wordpress.com (second stage). The result of the third stage included 56,269 views of the blog from different countries, and Brazil was the country with the highest viewing. Regarding the assessment by the Emory questionnaire, we found that for most of the major issues, the percentages obtained were or equal to 90%, while the analysis of the scales, navigation and structure presented the lowest scores. Conclusion The blog was developed and enabled greater access to information available on the web about cleft lip and cleft palate and hearing.
